Pai Gow Poker is a very easy and simple game to understand and even easier to play! It has become a big hit since it hit the brick and mortar casinos and now can be found in nearly every casino online and off. The game is pretty easy to get the hang of, however there are a few things that new players often make mistakes with and can possibly lose their wagers for. The 2 biggest mistakes new players make are not splitting their cards into the right hands and not placing their cards in the correct place on the table.

A quick run down of the game is; You are dealt 7 cards which you must use to make your best 2 card hand and your best 5 card hand. On the table there will be a place for the front hand(2 card hand) and the back hand(5 card hand). It is a penalty to place the hands in the wrong place, or to have your front hand ranking higher than your back hand. Hopefully this will help you to better understand how to play Pai Gow Poker and it's strategies. There are two different types of strategies, one a player might use and of course one a dealer might find a bit more handy!

Since it can be somewhat difficult when just beginning to play Pai Gow to understand what exactly you should do with the cards you are dealt. Which cards you should put in which hand and so on. No matter what your cards are, your best cards (pairs, trips, high card) should go into your back hand(5 card hand) first, then the next 2 highest cards should go into your front hand(2 card hand). A high pair is 10's or better, a middle pair is 7-9 and a small pair are 6 or lower. A high card, like a high pair is a 10 or better. Below is a table to help you know what to do with the cards dealt to you.
